Te Arawa place names in Hauraki

The Te Arawa peoples have maintained a relationship and interest in the Hauraki region since the arrival of their canoe in New Zealand. Throughout the region there are Te Arawa place names, including Te Moengahau-o-Tamatekapua (the windy sleeping place of Tamatekapua), which is also known as Moehau Mountain, and Te Kōhatu-whakairi-a-Ngātoroirangi (the suspended rock of Ngātoroirangi) on Table Mountain.
