Story: Hauraki–Coromandel places
These trams, which formerly plied Auckland streets, have found a further use as baches (holiday houses) at Waikawau on the Thames coast. More than 30 were acquired by Ted Russell in the early 1950s from the Auckland tram company. He placed 23 of them at Waikawau, 10 at Tapu and some at other locations on the Coromandel Peninsula.
