Story: First peoples in Māori tradition
This mural takes pride of place in the National Library of New Zealand’s reading room in Wellington. Carved by Cliff Whiting of the Te Whānau-a-Apanui tribe, it depicts many Māori gods such as Ranginui (sky father) and Papatūānuku (earth mother).
