Growing grapes

Perhaps the most spectacular growth in any New Zealand industry in the last 50 years has been that of the wine industry. In the early 1900s vineyards were found only in the Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay and Auckland areas, but they are now found from Northland to Central Otago. This vineyard is in the Awatere Valley in Marlborough. In recent years, the largest area of plantings have been here and in other parts of Marlborough.
