Petrol-powered milking machine

A. W. Reid, a dairy farmer from Stratford, invented a petrol-driven milking machine, seen here at the 1915 New Plymouth Agricultural and Pastoral Show. Petrol was used to run milking machines in the early 1900s, before electricity became more widely available.
