John Matheson

John Matheson

Although he worked mainly in Britain and Europe, John Matheson returned to New Zealand to conduct performances by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and other groups. This poster advertises the 'Matheson' Proms for the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra in 1975. Matheson and his family returned to New Zealand to live in 1985, but he moved to Australia in 1988 to become director of the Lyric Opera of Queensland.
