No cages campaign

No cages campaign

This SAFE (Save Animals From Exploitation) poster, calling for opponents of battery farming to make a submission on the Layer Hen Code of Welfare, shows the confined conditions in which battery hens are kept. SAFE began major campaigns against intensive farming of layer hens in the late 1980s. From 2008 hen cages were increased in size, but SAFE continued to campaign for their complete abolition.
