Potiki, by Patricia Grace

Potiki (meaning the last-born child), first published in 1986, was the second novel by author Patricia Grace, who is of Ngāti Toa, Ngāti Raukawa and Te Āti Awa descent. Like a number of Grace's books, Potiki has been translated into several languages. Her fiction has won prestigious awards both in New Zealand and internationally.
