Māui A sinks

When Māui A was dropped to the sea floor it proved a momentous occasion. Everything went according to plan – except that the platform sank further than expected, by over 2 metres. The cartoonist Nevile Lodge exaggerates this point. An extra 2 metres was added to the top of the platform once it was in place, raising it above the reach of storm waves.
