The northern islands
The islands which form New Zealand’s northernmost and warmest ecoregion are scattered. Norfolk Island is about halfway between New Caledonia and New Zealand, while the Kermadec Islands are about halfway between New Zealand and Tonga. The Three Kings Islands are only 53 kilometres north-west of Cape Rēinga.
