    The Earthquake Commission (EQC) site outlines coverage provided by the Earthquake Commission, and includes frequently asked questions and research papers. The site also includes sections on modifying or ‘quakesafeing’ your home to minimise earthquake damage.

  • GeoNet: Quakes

    This website is the New Zealand public’s primary source of immediate information on earthquakes. Within minutes, GeoNet posts the locations and magnitudes of the latest earthquakes, with maps and seismic drums showing activity at a number of stations throughout New Zealand. It includes reports from members of the public on how strongly they felt the earthquake at their location.

  • GetThru Earthquake!

    New Zealand government website includes information about earthquakes, and advice on what to do before, during and after an earthquake.

  • GNS Science: Earthquakes

    This site includes useful information on safety and preparedness for various emergencies, including earthquakes.

  • Quaketracker

    Linking from the Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences website, this site is designed for secondary school students. It includes classroom projects, reports on the latest earthquakes, a photo gallery, and FAQs.
