Classification of spiders and their relatives

This diagram shows the classification of spiders and their relatives, including mites, false scorpions and harvestmen. Of the 107 spider families known worldwide, 55 occur in New Zealand – 50 of these have species unique to New Zealand, and the other five have been introduced.
