Story: Deep-sea creatures
Various species of king crab (Paralomis zealandica) are found in cool waters around the world. This extra-spiky species is only found off New Zealand’s east coast, from the southern North Island to the Campbell Plateau, where it lives on sandy bottoms at around 600 metres deep.
