Story: Dalmatians
Published in the New Zealand Observer in 1893, this cartoon illustrates attitudes towards non-British nationals. As New Zealand was such a British outpost, people of any other nationality immediately stood out; however, the cartoon’s vast hordes did not reflect actual immigration statistics.
