Story: Crabs, crayfish and other crustaceans
Few New Zealanders know anything about the dozens of different species of slaters around their coasts. This grey slater (Cirolana kokoru) is quite common under rocks at Island Bay, Wellington, but it was only discovered in the early 2000s, and named in 2004.
