One day’s harvest (2nd of 2)

One day’s harvest

Toheroa grow to the size of an adult’s hand. Their large muscular foot (shown extruding from the shell) burrows deep into tidal sands, while feeding siphons reach to the surface. Photographed in 1974, Liz Peeni of Ohakea shows the result of a day of digging.
