West Coast trampers
These trampers have just crossed over the Dennistoun Pass from the relatively dry and treeless Rangitātā River valley in Canterbury. They are heading into the damp, lush Perth River valley on the West Coast. The contrasting climates of the two regions have produced dramatically different scenery.
