Story: Veterans’ assistance

Agent Orange

Agent Orange

After military service overseas, many New Zealand veterans of the Vietnam War faced a long battle with government bureaucracy. They suffered a variety of medical problems due to their exposure to the chemical defoliant Agent Orange. The veterans did not receive official compensation for the effects of Agent Orange until 2004, the year this cartoon was published.
