The New Zealand International Exhibition
This postcard shows the extensive buildings for the New Zealand International Exhibition of 1906–07. Designed in French Renaissance style, they covered nearly 14 acres of Hagley Park. One of the entrance towers had an electric lift from which visitors could view the city. The exhibition, which had the theme of ‘Progress’, was staged to promote New Zealand trade and industry.
