Story: Building stone

Blenheim war memorial

Blenheim war memorial

The clock tower in Blenheim commemorates all those from the Marlborough Province who died in the First World War. Stones in the upper part consist of Amuri limestone, while those in the lower part are greywacke. There was a deliberate effort to ensure that all areas were represented by incorporating stones collected from different parts of Marlborough.
