These pupils of Kaiaua School on the Firth of Thames received gifts of carved birds from schools in Brisbane, Australia and Narashino in Japan, which are along the migratory route known as the East Asian–Australasian Flyway. Schools exchanged information about the birds and the feeding sites they use.
