Story: Beef farming
Sheep and cattle graze on hill country near Tikokino in Hawke’s Bay, in 1953. The mob of young ewes is feeding in a block that has been grazed by the cows and calves. Running cattle and sheep together works well, as they do not compete for the same feed, and cattle ingest the larvae and eggs of parasitic intestinal worms, which infect sheep but are not harmful to cattle.
