Story: Bay of Plenty places
Te Urewera, home of the Tūhoe people, is also a national park with many fine tramping (hiking) routes. This one runs beside the course of the Whakatāne River. This scene is near the junction with the Waiakare River, about 25 kilometres north of Ruatāhuna.
