Landing at Wellington

The approaches to Rongotai airport, the hub of New Zealand’s air transport system, are exposed to extreme turbulence when Wellington’s notorious winds blow. Many New Zealand travellers have tales to tell about landing at Wellington in a gale. Nevertheless, the airport has an excellent safety record.
