Viaduct Basin
In 1999 and 2003 the Viaduct Basin was home for syndicates competing for the Louis Vuitton trophy and the right to challenge New Zealand in the America’s Cup yacht race. Crowds flocked to see the boats off each morning and welcome them after racing. Restaurants, cafés and apartments ring the basin, which is a hub for the city’s night life.
