Auckland pollution

Auckland has relatively clear air for much of the time, but suffers increasingly from a brown haze problem common to many large cites. This consists mainly of fine soot particles and nitrogen dioxide released from vehicle exhausts. New Zealand’s prevalent winds usually disperse air pollutants, but during calm periods the air quality can deteriorate.
