Story: Brees, Samuel Charles

Samuel Charles Brees

A black and white drawing of Samuel Brees standing in a door way with a group of Maori doing a haka in the background

After working for the New Zealand Company, Samuel Charles Brees returned to London and between 1849 and 1851 exhibited a much-admired panorama consisting of enlargements of his sketches of Wellington. This lithograph of him in front of a section of the panorama was used for advertising purposes.
