‘Pari‘aka’

The story of Parihaka has resonance beyond Taranaki, and has inspired many New Zealand artists and writers. This 1989 painting is by Lily Aitui Laita, who is of Samoan and Māori ancestry, with tribal links to Ngāti Raukawa and Rangitāne.
