Collecting salmon eggs

Before salmon farming can begin, selected females are stripped of their eggs, which are then mixed with milt (sperm) from male salmon. The fertilised eggs are incubated in a freshwater hatchery. Here, salmon farmers collect ripe eggs from a broodstock female.
