Northern Buller's mollymawk colony (2nd of 2)

This colony of Buller's mollymawks is on Little Sister Island, in the Chathams group. Pictured here are chicks on nests, visiting adults, and at the back, a chick that is being fed. Seen here is the northern subspecies (sometimes called the Pacific mollymawk), which compared with the southern subspecies has a brighter bill and forehead. They breed on several islands of the Chathams group, and at a small colony on the Three Kings Islands.
