Auckland wandering albatross

Auckland wandering albatross

Most Auckland wandering albatrosses breed in tussock herb fields on the upper slopes of the almost pest-free Adams Island, in the Auckland Islands, 400 kilometres south of Stewart Island. These birds are similar in appearance to Antipodean wandering albatrosses, but are generally whiter. The average weight for males is 6.8 kilograms, and females 5.8 kilograms.
