Alpine Fault in South Westland (1st of 2)

Alpine Fault in South Westland

In parts of South Westland the Alpine Fault is marked by a clear, linear feature cutting across the landscape and separating different rock types. It passes out to sea just north of Milford Sound, and marks the western edge of northern Fiordland.
