Pōhutukawa flowers

Like many other members of the myrtle family (Myrtaceae), pōhutukawa’s flowers are brush blossoms. They typically consist of a mass of bright red stamens around a shallow bowl of nectar. Yellow flowers occasionally develop on some trees.
