Rugby, fish and chips, democracy – these are some features of New Zealand culture attributed to the English. They were the largest group of settlers, and most New Zealanders have English blood in their veins. New Zealand life has been hugely affected by the institutions and values which successive waves of English immigrants have brought to the other side of the globe.
