Bolton Street cemetery

English legal traditions had a major impact on the shaping of new law in New Zealand, and developments in the home country were frequently imitated. One example was the 1853 English legislation which established municipal cemeteries. The Bolton Street cemetery in Wellington is a municipal rather than a church cemetery.
