Kaipara Harbour

Kaipara Harbour

The Ngāti Whātua tribes Te Uri-o-Hau and Te Taoū eventually controlled both the northern and southern Kaipara Harbour. It is New Zealand’s largest enclosed harbour and an important bird habitat.
