Ever since people first set foot in New Zealand, they have found ways to use its resources. For many years farming provided the country’s lifeblood. Today a capitalist economy combines the traditional earners such as wool and dairy products with new developments, from making movies to growing distinctive wines, or taking tourists white-water rafting.
