Sandy beach erosion (1st of 2)
Although there are proverbs about not building your house on the sand, coastal residences are in demand. This house sits behind dunes on the Kapiti coast. New Zealanders like to live where they have views of the sea and can walk along the beach. But the lifestyle comes at a price. Coastlines are not fixed, and change over time. Parts are swept away and deposited elsewhere in a natural process that can be very unnerving to those who own coastal property.
