Council of Trade Unions leaders

In 1987 the militant and moderate wings of New Zealand’s union movement joined to form the Council of Trade Unions. Key figures in the steering committee set up to form the CTU were (left to right) committee secretary Iris Williams, Federation of Labour (FoL) secretary Ken Douglas, Bank Officers’ Union president Angela Foulkes, Combined State Unions president Colin Hicks, and FoL president Jim Knox.
