As part of a working bee a fresh coat of red paint is applied to the carvings and roof of Taupunga, the meeting house at Waimārama marae in Hawke's Bay, and crops are harvested. The marae was being prepared for a large Anzac Day hui to celebrate the 13 men associated with the marae who served in 28 (Māori) Battalion during the Second World War.
